Jonas Gomes is a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer with over 12 years of tenure at Burckhardt Compression, currently serving as Technical Director. His career has been deeply rooted in the oil and gas industry, with a specialization in mechanical equipment for upstream, downstream, refining, and petrochemical applications.
Jonas began his journey in the field working extensively in refinery operations, where he spent more than 7 years in the maintenance department and turnaround teams. During this time, he developed a strong expertise in asset integrity, reliability engineering, and large-scale shutdown planning—critical areas for ensuring safe and efficient refinery performance.
In his current leadership role, Jonas heads a team of mechanical engineers responsible for the revamp and upgrade of gas compressors, a key component in energy infrastructure. His work focuses on improving performance, extending equipment life cycles, and integrating modern technologies into legacy systems.
Known for his strategic thinking and hands-on approach, Jonas plays a pivotal role in driving technical excellence and innovation across Burckhardt Compression’s engineering projects. His deep industry knowledge and commitment to operational efficiency make him a trusted leader in complex mechanical engineering initiatives.
