About Dr. Abdulla Alseiari

Senior Manager – Lead Researcher in AI Diagnostics and Prognostics

Dr. Abdulla is a seasoned expert in predictive maintenance and Artificial Intelligence (AI), with over 20 years of experience driving innovation across Abu Dhabi’s energy sector and the aerospace industry. He spent 18 years at TAQA, formerly the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), where he held a progression of technical and managerial roles, steadily rising through the organization and making significant contributions to its asset management, maintenance and reliability strategies. In 2023, Dr. Abdulla joined the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) as Senior Manager of the Diagnostics & Prognostics Research Group within the Propulsion and Space Research Centre (PSRC). In this role, he leads advanced research & development into Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) technologies for airbreathing propulsion systems.

Dr. Abdulla brings a proven track record of leadership on large-scale predictive maintenance projects, particularly within the power sector, where he has applied AI-driven maintenance optimization to enhance the reliability of High Voltage Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Power Transformers, Diesel Generators and Gas Turbines. At TII, he is spearheading the development of next-generation predictive maintenance and health monitoring solutions, aiming to integrate anomaly detection, diagnostics, PHM, digital twin and decision support systems to optimize propulsion asset reliability, reduce operational costs, minimize risks associated with operational, environmental, and safety factors, and streamline inventory management.

As the UAE representative to the International Society for Air Breathing Engines (ISABE), Dr. Abdulla champions national innovation in propulsion technologies, promoting knowledge exchange and strategic collaboration through ISABE’s global network. His approach emphasizes engagement with local stakeholders to accelerate the UAE’s technological capabilities and leadership in the field.

Dr. Abdulla holds a Ph.D. in Maintenance Engineering & AI from the University of Bolton (England), an MSc in Maintenance Engineering from Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland), and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Al Ain University (UAE). His deep academic foundation and industry expertise uniquely position him to drive transformational advancements in PHM and predictive maintenance both in the UAE and internationally.
