About Vasilis Katsapis

Vasilis holds a BEng In Mechanical Engineering, a PhD in Aerospace in the field of Gas Turbine Technology from Cranfield University in UK and an Executive MBA from Aston University in UK, with specialism in Finance. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Chartered Manager (CMgr). Vasilis has also been elected Fellow with the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS), the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE) and the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) in UK, while he is also a Visiting Fellow in Cranfield University and a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
Vasilis has been in the gas turbine industry for more than 20 years, with experience spanning from engine design, development and testing, to operation, maintenance, upgrades, repairs and overhauls of aeroderivative, industrial and heavy-duty gas turbines.
In his current capacity with Siemens Energy AGT, Vasilis is the Product Owner (Chief Engineer) and Head of Engineering for SGT-A20 (Industrial Avon).
