Mike Elliyoun is the Technical Sales Director at Roots Systems, where he leads global business development and technical solutions for engineered compressor and blower systems. He is also in charge of operation for Roots Systems LLC as designated sales channel for Roots in the Middle East.
With over 20 years of experience in turbomachinery, Mike has established himself as a trusted authority in the application, design, and commercialization of advanced compression technologies. His technical expertise spans API 617 centrifugal compressors, API 619 screw compressors, and rotary lobe machines, enabling him to support complex projects across the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Hydrogen, and Energy Transition sectors.
Mike’s career is distinguished by his ability to bridge engineering and commercial strategy, supporting clients and EPCs from early feasibility studies and front-end engineering design (FEED) through proposal development, equipment supply, commissioning, and long-term operations. He has worked extensively on mission-critical, high-specification projects worldwide, helping clients meet demanding performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Academically, Mike holds a BSc in Materials Engineering, an MBA from the University of Houston, and is currently advancing his expertise with a Master of Legal Studies at Texas A&M University, focusing on the intersection of engineering, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
Beyond his corporate role, Mike contributes to the advancement of turbomachinery standards as an active member of the API 619 Task Force Committee and ASME PTC-9, where he collaborates with peers and industry leaders to shape international standards, guidelines, and performance testing codes.
